Now, there are only a few more weeks left until the second season makes its grand premiere. With the release of a new teaser video and poster, the hype around the next installment of “Alchemy of Souls” continues to rise.While “Alchemy of Souls” was great to watch from start to finish, it is no secret that the series ended on a huge cliffhanger. Because of this, many fans cannot wait to satisfy their ever-growing curiosity towards the show’s plot—us included.Now, let’s take a look at these unanswered questions that absolutely need to be addressed in season 2.If you have not watched the first season of “Alchemy of Souls”, this article will contain spoilers.
1. Who pulls MuDeok out of the lake?
At the end of the drama, MuDeok (Jung SoMin) loses herself and goes on a rampage. Although she is able to regain control, the damage has already been done. In order to atone for her mistakes, MuDeok throws her petrifying body into the lake. When it seems like our beloved character is about to meet her end, she is rescued by two mysterious women. Who are these two and how are they connected to MuDeok? We’re just dying to know their identity and what they play in the series.
2. Does Naksu regain her powers?
At the beginning of the series, we learn that Naksu (Go YounJung) is a renowned assassin with incredible skill. However, she loses all of that when she shifts her soul into MuDeok’s body. Through teasers, we learn that the deadly assassin has returned to her original state, but now the question remains: does that mean she has regained her skills too? It would be amazing to see Naksu’s fighting prowess once again.
3. How does Naksu return to her original body?
Before figuring out whether or not Naksu has returned to her former glory, there is perhaps one question that many fans would like answered first. How does Naksu return to her original body? For it was last seen being burnt in front of a crowd. There is certainly some powerful magic involved, however, we will just have to wait and see what it is.
4. How has Seo Yul been affected by the blood worm?
In the finale, we learn that So Yi (Seo HyeWon) uses the blood worm in order to save Seo Yul (Hwang MinHyun) from death. However, due to its parasitic nature, if sorcery is not used to keep the warm alive, it will begin to eat the host from the inside. We can see the effects of this immediately, as Seo Yul expereinces pain and is unable to determine the cause. Many fans are worried for Seo Yul’s fate and how the blood worm will affect him in season 2.
5. How will Jin ChoYeon exact her revenge?
With her father’s death, Jin ChoYeon (Oh My Girl’s Arin) is now bent on revenge. From the teaser alone, we see a complete transformation from her sweet, innocent image. She has a much more serious aura around her, hinting towards her resolve for vengeance. This begs the question of how will she do it and if we will see Jin ChoYeon wielding a sword in battle.
6. Does Jang Uk gain any new powers after being reborn?
Jang Uk (Lee JaeWook) proved to be a genius, able to learn various techniques at a frighteningly fast speed. He was already on track to becoming one of the best mages in all of Daeho. But being reborn might have sped up this process, or in fact, bestowed him with entirely new powers altogether. We just can’t wait to see Jang Uk in action once again and the new skills he might hold.
7. Will Crown Prince Go Won be friend or foe?
Crown Prince Go Won (Shin SeungHo) has a prickly and pompous nature, yet has shown to be sweet and loveable too. At the end of the first season, he was shaping up to be a valuable friend to Jang Uk and company. However, due to the way the first season ended and JinMu’s (Jo JaeYoon) continued influence, the Crown Prince’s alliances could very well change. It is unknown where Go Won currently stands, but fans can only hope that he will continue his bromance with Jang Uk and remain a trusted ally.
8. Will MuDeok return and reclaim her place as BuYeon?
With MuDeok being rescued in the finale and Naksu returning to her original body, there is still some hope that MuDeok will make an appearance in season 2. And this time, she will hopefully be able to return to her rightful place as the daughter of the Jin family. We cannot forget that MuDeok is in fact a powerful priestess, so it would make complete sense that she is still alive, and is only bedridden or unconscious. There are various theories floating around, but all we can do is wait until “Alchemy of Souls” resumes in December.
9. Will there be a happy ending?
The question that’s on everyone’s mind: will there be a happy ending? While it seemed that way in the first half of the finale, we quickly learn that anything could happen. Although season 2 of “Alchemy of Souls” looks to be more on the serious side, fans can only hope that our beloved characters will be rewarded after their many hardships.
