Out of all the members who are all uniquely gifted in their own ways, Asahi has gained special attention from fans because of his amazingly refreshing personality (read: chaotic) and inspiring career graph. Having trained for three years at YG Japan, Asahi participated in “YG Treasure Box” when he barely knew a word of Korean. To be in a completely alien environment and still come out undefeated is a feat in and of itself. The fact that he could successfully also open up and forge some of the strongest friendships, speaks volumes about who he is as a person.The Asahi we know now, is the freest soul with eyes full of love and mischief. He loves playing around with the other members and doesn’t shy away from stealing the spotlight. His sense of humour is witty and his presence of mind is truly commendable. Asahi has the ability to come up with the best responses/reactions to any and everything and there’s rarely a situation that gets him flustered. When it does happen, however, he finds a way to turn it around in a minute or simply wins everyone over with his often unintentional aegyo.If “TREASURE Map” is any proof, there is more than enough evidence to prove this point. He isn’t cautious about his image as an idol but rather, enjoys every moment to the fullest, even if that means millions of people will be watching him make silly faces. Even the members vouch for the fact that Asahi is only normal when he’s not being normal. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it is truly Asahi’s world and we’re just living in it.Asahi doesn’t just march to the beat of his own drum but rather dances along with it. If you’ve been familiar with variety shows for any amount of time, you wouldn’t be able to overlook the fact that variety shows rest on the individual personalities of their guests. “No Jam” is a phrase that is often used for those who are no fun and aren’t entertaining. They usually have not much to say and don’t really give reactions that will excite an audience. At the same time, when done well, this seemingly deadpan personality could also be entertaining, where someone purposely acts like they’re disinterested or annoyed to evoke a reaction out of others.The fact still remains, however, that funny, responsive, spontaneous and bright personalities are always loved on variety shows.
