Having been a rapidly growing and changing industry over the years, a concern that naturally arises from anything that achieves unprecedented explosion of success is future performance and sustainability.MLD Entertainment’s rookie boy group T1419, consisting of nine members (Noa, Sian, Kevin, GunWoo, Leo, On, Zero, Kairi and Kio) is the K-Pop scene’s latest edition in 2021 to its list of rising stars that will be the voice of the future generation. They recently dropped their 1st single album ‘BEFORE SUNRISE Part 1’, consisting of three tracks in total (‘ASURABALBALTA’, ‘Butt Out’, and the instrumental version for ‘ASURABALBALTA’).‘BEFORE SUNRISE Part 1’, the start of the group’s four-part series, is the perfect proper introduction of the boys that takes off after their previous release ‘Dracula’ where they delivered a spectacular performance while “masked”, as they were all wearing a disguise in the MV, which was quite a clever way to attract the attention of K-Pop stans in an over-saturated market flooding with pretty faces. The lead track, ‘ASURABALBALTA’ mainly utilizes the hybrid-trap genre, infusing elements of left-field bass, dubstep, and of course, electronic and pop. Pretty much one of the standard formula for a K-Pop track. If there’s anything that deserves the spotlight regarding the track itself, it’s perhaps the slightly unconventional sound sources. Too many times are there hybrid-trap genre tracks in the K-Pop market, where the final mixes are generally just muddy, destroying the overall dynamics of the entire track, due to having too many unnecessary elements going on in the background. While the mix down isn’t the best, ‘ASURABALBALTA’, does utilize just the necessary elements that a track needs to support the vocals. It’s probably not a track that will leave you invested on the musicality. However, the purpose of ‘ASURABALBALTA’ seems to be more for being a track for the boys to show just how full of swag they are and the passion they have in beginning their journey as a rookie idol group. In case you’re wondering just what  ‘ASURABALBALTA’ is, it’s a spell that supposedly makes one’s wishes come true. The second track, ‘Butt Out’, leaning closer to hip-hop in contrast to the EDM based ‘ASURABALBALTA’. It’s a track that reflects their youthful and somewhat rebellious spirit that the young generation of modern society can relate to.Let’s face it. We are living in a world where being judged for pretty much anything, also impossible to speak without offending anyone, and struggling to climb the social ladder is more amplified than ever before. What’s the young generation to do in such a scenario?T1419 seems to be suggesting you tell everyone to just “butt out”. They are saying they won’t be living life locked up inside a social pyramid. The lyrics definitely is a message that would appealing to the youth as it not only tells them to be an individual that doesn’t conform to what society expects in the system that it abides by, but also confronts the “fake” hypocritical members of society as well.Overall, ‘BEFORE SUNRISE Part 1’ is a mood setter, showing listeners what T1419’s agenda is all about at the moment, which is to live their youth to the fullest, not being daunted by the era in which they are alive in.Having made quite bold statements to kick off their career, we can only now wait and see what T1419 delivers next to see just how serious they are about representing the youth of this generation.
