With the increasing popularity of the K-Pop genre, the top 10 most-streamed K-Pop artists alone reached more than 16.5 billion streams this year, which entails an increase by 56% and 20%, compared to the same data from 2020 and 2021 Wrapped, respectively. New entries in the top 10 most streamed K-Pop artists are the groups ENHYPEN and (G)I-DLE. BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Stray Kids have managed to keep their place in the list, from 1st to 4th place. ITZY and Red Velvet are on 8th and 10th spot, respectively. SEVENTEEN, who was on the 7th spot last year, managed to climb up to the 5th spot, and is followed by TXT.For Spotify’s top 10 K-Pop tracks, the chart has been dominated both BTS and BLACKPINK, including their members’ individual projects. BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Butter’ take the 1st and 2nd spot in the chart. IVE’s ‘Love Dive’, the only track in the top 10 not participated by the top 2 acts, took the sixth place in the chart.The fourth-generation K-Pop groups have been upping their game, with 7 of the representative fourth-generation girl groups (ITZY, (G)I-DLE, aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and STAYC), occupying the top 10 list of female K-Pop groups. On the other hand, BTS and Stray Kids kept the top 2 spots for the top 10 male K-Pop groups, and TREASURE rises to the 10th spot.BLACKPINK’s Lisa, IU, and Girls’ Generation’s TaeYeon has recorded 1st to 3rd places of the top K-Pop female solo artists, respectively. Jessi, who released the track ‘ZOOM’ last April, took the fourth place, while TWICE’s NaYeon, who made her debut this year, came in fifth. Other artist in the list include BIBI, Lee Hi, Jeon SoMi, ChungHa, and BLACKPINK’s Rosé.Lastly, for male solo artists, BTS members J-Hope, Suga (alternately known as Agust D), and V, topped the list.
