Not even two months after the series’ last episode aired, Kim HeeSeon has returned with a thrilling new drama, “Remarriage & Desires”. In this article, we’ll tell you why Kim HeeSeon and the rest of the cast’s performance in this drama is yet again another cinematic perfection to add to their portfolios, and why this drama is more than worth the watch.
1. “Remarriage & Desires” Is The Exact Definition Of A Drama
To say the performance in this drama was surprising would be us telling half-truths. The unexpected events, pleasantly—and unpleasantly as well— shocking twists and turns are exactly what any person, K-Drama fan or not, would call a real drama. Every occurrence, from the revelations of unlikely bloodlines to the threats and misdeeds left fans stunned and anxious, wondering what new turn the series would take. You would certainly agree that watching this drama would make you feel an outburst of numerous emotions you may not be able to place. Let’s not forget the luxury and elegance that the wealthy folks in this drama exuded. It was simply chef’s kiss.
2. Perfect Characterization Of The Actresses
Kim HeeSeon once again gave her absolute best performance for this drama. In “Remarriage & Desires”, she plays Seo HyeSeung, a widowed housewife with a daughter, MinJi who is a middle schooler. Life hadn’t been easy for them ever since her husband’s death, and HeeSeon’s portrayal of a grief-stricken but tactical HyeSeung seeking revenge for the murder of her husband was a pleasure to watch. You can tell immediately that HyeSeung is an intellectual, but is also very tuned to her emotions and stays true to them in her fight, too.Jung Eugene is another performer that completely stole the hearts of her audience, both in the drama and fans in real life. Her execution of Jin YooHui as a fast thinker and someone not easily trampled on or messed with was quite impressionable. Despite YooHui’s troubled past and questionable actions, this doesn’t stop fans from resonating with her and understanding her as a human being. Being able to play a character so perfectly that anyone can picture them in real life proves just how amazing of an actress Eugene is.A power mover and influential businesswoman, Choi YooSun, played by Cha JiYeon, was indeed a showstopper. Her silent but well-thought approach to handling issues and getting what she wants out of a situation was inspirational to say the least. YooSun’s status as the CEO of Rex, a matchmaking company for the upper class members of the fictional Korean society, wasn’t the only reason she earned the respect of her clients and business partners— and of course we, her audience. YooSun used a level-headed approach to tackle roadblocks she faced while pairing potential husbands and wives, and at the same time benefitting greatly from it without looking suspect is a talent in its right. Cha JiYeon played this character marvelously well, and she deserves a lot of appreciation for that.
3. A Captivating Storyline, And Even More Captivating Execution And Resolution
HyeSeung loses her husband and is left as the sole provider for herself, her mother and her daughter, but things get heated when she meets Jin YooHui unexpectedly. All the anger and grief spill out, and she threatens to reveal YooHui’s true nature. Choi YooSun’s Rex being the battleground where all the major players gather helps HyeSeung indirectly and directly connect with people that would help her achieve her goal. YooHui doesn’t sit back and wait for her demise though. The fight between these two, as well as the other characters that had parts to play in their story, was intense and mind-blowing. In the end, HyeSeung finds her happy ending with newfound lover, Lee HyungJu, played by Lee HyunWook.“Remarriage & Desires” is a drama worth every second of your time. Some fans even say it reminded them of the iconic SBS three-part series “The Penthouse: War In Life”. This drama has proved to be drama fans would remember for a very long time, as both the characters and plotline were so compelling and immersive. Any K-Drama fan should push this drama to the top of their watchlist, but if you have already seen it… well, do let your drama loving friends, or any friend in fact, know about it as well. Guaranteed, they will not regret it.Check out the trailer here: “Remarriage And Desires” (2022 Netflix Drama): Cast & Summary KDRAMA STORIES|Jul 14, 2022
