They are the most successful and influential K-Pop idol group to have ever existed in history, having achieved accomplishments that their peers only dreamt of doing.Maybe there are some people who don’t follow what is happening in the K-Pop music scene, and may not be aware of who they are, however unlikely the scenario.A Portuguese comedian, Rui Unas, recently stated that he has never heard of BTS, and that his ten year old child also hasn’t either.Eventually, a lot of toxic comments began to be added to the post. One comment reportedly stated that comparing BTS to the Beatles was like comparing vinegar to perfume.Of course, the ARMY in Portugal wasn’t going to allow this to go unnoticed and began to defend the K-Pop group as well.Some of the comments that Portuguese ARMY have left stated that BTS is great because their music has messages of hope rather than profanity, sexuality, and violence. It soon created quite a commotion, and Rui Unas has stated that he never expected his post to explode with comments just because he made a passing statement regarding BTS.Domestic fans of an online community also pointed out something interesting. BTS were the only artists to be in the top 20 in Portugal, whose music wasn’t sung in Portuguese or Spanish, suggesting that it is unlikely anyone hasn’t heard of the boy group.BTS has recently been nominated for the Grammies.
