Back in the day, and even to a large extent now, dating is not the norm when it comes to the lifestyle of K-Pop idols. Some are in a relationship, but some have to resort to dating in secret. The reasons are various, as some idols may face criticism from fans, or some just prefer to keep their private lives private, away from the public.Oh, and back in the 90’s, cell phones weren’t as common as they are today, and there was no such thing as social media.So how did K-Pop idols exchange phone numbers with their love interests back in the day? A veteran K-Pop celebrity, Choi JaeWoo, reveals how he did it.So it turns out that most had to have a stylist or someone who worked at broadcasting stations that they could trust to help them.They’d write down their phone number on a piece of paper and leave it under a vending machine.Afterward, the stylist or another insider would tell the other person to go check under the vending machine for the contact information.But obviously, this wasn’t exactly the best method.The reason why is because a lot of the celebrities just didn’t have the time to go check, which resulted in so many pieces of paper piling up underneath the vending machine.
