[Update: Kim NamGil has confirmed his casting.]“Island” tells the story of monsters of Jeju Island which have been looking for opportunities to get rid of the human world for a long time and which started to target a chaebol heiress who arrived in Jeju Island.The drama is based on the manhwa (manga) and webtoon of the same title by Yoon InWan and Yang KyungIl. The manhwa was released from 1997 to 2001 with 7 books and the webtoon for a second part in 2016.It is a Korean fantasy exorcism story based on Jeju Island folk tales and as expected the webtoon is filled with monsters and scary scenes.Since a lot of us are curious about the drama and webtoon, let’s have a quick look at the webtoon’s characters.The lead character Van is killing monsters and he is a man who needs a woman to end his cursed immortal life. (Kim NamGil is in talks for the role.)Won MiHo is a chaebol heiress who arrived in Jeju Island and Van is the only one who can protect her when she is attacked by monsters.
