YuGyeom had a two-part comeback. He released the track and music video for ‘I Want U Around’ featuring DeVita first, on Jun, 11,  and then released his solo debut album “Point of View: U" on Jun. 17. The album has been well received. In fact, ‘All Your Fault’ featuring GRAY, got YuGyeom his first roof hit (hitting the top of the chart) on the Genie charts. He is the second male solo artist to achieve this in 2021 after fellow GOT7 member Bambam - who had his comeback on the 15th. This is on top of several high international chart rankings.

Concept

The whole album is a love story and each song is a chapter. The album name “Point of View: U” is about seeing yourself and someone you love from a point of view. It’s about all the thoughts that you have as you fall in love. YuGyeom says he wrote the songs keeping that feeling in mind. The music video for the title track ‘All Your Fault’ featuring Gray, is reminiscent of a noir film. It is sensational and dangerous. He plays a tormented lead going through the motions. There’s a lot of attention to detail in the cinematography, especially with the scenes where it is shot from YuGyeom’s perspective, emphasizing the album title.“I Want U Around” is dark with smokey and ominous visuals. YuGyeom is tied up both physically and mentally in the thoughts about someone that he loves. DeVita literally brings the heat and fire to the video which seems to bring some light to YuGyeom’s dilemma.

Fashion & Appearance

Although YuGyeom has occasionally shown his forehead during performances for GOT7, his hair was usually down and covering it. After moving to AOMG and for this comeback, he styled his hair up to reveal his hairline. The reaction has been hot! Fans are falling for his masculine visuals all over again.YuGyeom shows us handsome duality in his concept photos. He wears heavy patterns to create a heaviness against the dark background of some photos and brings us to life with bright green in another set.

Dance

The dances from both ‘I Want U Around’ and ‘All Your Fault’ are about effortless power. YuGyeom makes a series of strong yet understated seductive moves. iGOT7 (GOT7’s fandom - also known as Ahgase) even noticed that at the end of his performance, YuGyeom flashed the GOT7 symbol (his fingers in the shape of a 7) for them to see. This was a really thoughtful touch.https://twitter.com/YeonjunnieHwa/status/1405481406369726466

Songs

The album includes 7 songs, some with features from the most popular Korean hip-hop and R&B artists. The featuring artists include DeVita on ‘I Want U Around,’ Loco on ‘All About U,’ and Jay Park with Punchnello on ‘Love The Way.’ He also had the help of two of AOMG’s hit-making producers, Gray (who also featured on ‘All Your Fault’) and Cha Cha Malone. The album is heavily influenced by hip-hop, trap, and R&B showing us a new side to YuGyeom with his honey-like voice and intoxicating beats.

YuGyeom cutely shared that because the flowers were simply too many, he picked one flower from each bouquet and made one big bouquet to take home. He mentioned that he took all the letters with him as well.
