Kpopmap was invited to attend her online comeback showcase and we are here to cover some of the special moments which ChungHa had shared on the showcase.For “Querencia”, it had actually taken ChungHa a year and 8 months before actually releasing it.Not many might have notice but some of her previous tracks such as ‘Stay Tonight’, ‘PLAY’, ‘Dream of You’ and ‘X’ are actually pre-releases from the album.ChungHa had opened the showcase with a live performance of ‘X’ and greeted the reporters who were watching it cheerfully.With the impending comeback, the idol mentioned that she had not been able to sleep properly because of the excitement. She was feeling excited and could not wait to release the album later at 6 PM KST.Touching on the album, “Querencia” is ChungHa’s first full length album which consists of a total of 21 tracks! The word ‘Querencia’ is actually Spanish and it has the meaning of resting place. To ChungHa, this album the place where she could find peace and rest.Adding on, it is divided into 4 different sections, “NOBLE”, “SAVAGE”, “UNKNOWN” and “PLEASURES”, making the listening of the album even more interesting than before.Among them, the title track ‘Bicycle’ is a song with R&B pop and trap sound that unfolds with the introduction of an intense fuzz guitar.The lyrics express the excitement and overwhelming energy of the moment when a person steps on the pedal of the bicycle and moves forward.After sharing about her new album, ChungHa had also updated on her current health condition. Previously, she had caught COVID-19 but luckily recovered and now, is completely free from the virus.She knew that many people were worried about her but hoped that through this comeback, she would be able to show a healthy and energetic image.During her quarantine period, she went through a time of thinking and realised that she was thankful for a lot of things. Especially with the preparation of “Querencia”, she had the chance to work with so many different people, giving her the opportunity to express the messages she wanted through the songs she had worked on.One of her B-side tracks ‘Byulharang (160504 + 170607)’ is dedicated to her fans, Byulharang. She had mentioned that ever since her appearance on Mnet “Produce 101” Season 1 till how she had debuted as a solo singer, she felt very grateful for their existence.To repay them, ChungHa had also written the lyrics personally for the song. She did not find it easy but definitely had enjoyed the process.While lyrics composing and song writing are not exactly her forte, ChungHa mentioned that she hopes to get used to it, suggesting that she will be getting involved in her music even more in the near future.Moving on to the title track ‘Bicycle’, ChungHa shared that this was the first time she had tried out a new music style. It is different from what she had done so far and talked about how difficult the choreography is too.She had to choose between the harder choreography for ‘PLAY’ and ‘Bicycle’ but in the end, mentioned that both are difficult and challenging.Since it was an album that took her almost 2 years to complete, ChungHa could not help even more grateful. To her, charting high on music charts is not the main priority but hoped that along with the dancers and staff, she would be able to complete her promotion without getting injured.While it might sound like a simple wish, the idol mentioned that there are many factors which might actually make it difficult to happen.Adding on, she also hoped that with the release of “Querencia”, fans from all over the world would be able to gain strength and comfort especially due to the tiring and continuous worldwide pandemic.Before closing up, ChungHa had also performed live for the first time of ‘Bicycle’, showing off the hard work which she had been preparing for a long time.
