Concept
While promoting actively as GOT7, BamBam was associated with the phrase “young and rich” and predominantly with the genre hip-hop. With his position as the rapper of the group, his image was always curated around being the coolest, the most badass and the one with the most “swag”. However, in a complete twist, BamBam chose his solo debut concept to be rather soft and dreamy.A total of 7 concept photos were released, leading up to the release of “riBBon”, each with a distinct mood. The album cover pictures BamBam in a MÜNN Beige Pinstripe Shirring Shoulder Blazer, tied up in a pretty purple bow. His hair is dyed in subtle pastel green, purple and pink shades on a bright blonde base.In the concept photos, BamBam has platinum blonde hair and he appears in some of the most ethereal and otherworldly shots. It is clear that the entire concept is perfectly fleshed out and creatively unique. It is almost as if BamBam is some sort of godly being and all his concept photos indicate the same.
Fashion & Appearance
Some of the most striking outfits from BamBam’s concept photos include the Adam Jones Distressed Beer Towel Jumper, some customized pieces by BLANTIC, the Louis Vuitton Watercolor Light Graphic Tailored Jacket, and Watercolor Light Tailored Pants, topped with jewelry from Black Purple and Jewel County. He’s also seen sporting LOVERBOY’s Spike-Gathered Tartan Wool Bomber Jacket and Trousers as well as the Tartan Check Puff Shoulder Jacket and Organza Sleeveless Frill and Tie Top Black from BLINDNESS in the music video for ‘riBBon’. His floral sneakers are from Undercover.
The Dance
BamBam’s finally has the scope to show off how great of a performer he is, with the entire spotlight on him and the stage to his own self only. The choreography is peppy and flows smoothly. BamBam takes on the company of a lovely female dancer in a particular sequence and then again is joined by a band of dancers, which is truly a delight to witness. There are multiple killing points in the dance which will surely be stuck in our heads. Even though the choreography is an active and rest-free one, BamBam delivers effortlessly, which speaks volumes about his abilities as a dancer.A “Suit Version” of the choreography for ‘riBBon’ was also released which gave us a cooler and more heart-fluttering rendition of the same.
The Music
BamBam’s 1st mini-album “riBBon” contains 6 songs, spanning across 18 minutes and 25 seconds. The ‘Intro’ is produced by famed producer Murda Beatz and composed by Shane Lindstrom.
