The reason being, all of the members have actually already debuted before and will re-debut to form OMEGA X. They are all either part of disbanded boy groups and/or from survival shows. The 11 members include SeBin, YeChan, Xen, JeHyun, HuiChan, HanGyeom, TaeDong, JungHoon, Kevin, Hyuk, and JaeHan.Get to know them in the above trailer for their debut. We’ve compiled a few facts about them, too.
1. The meaning of their group name
The first part of their name (OMEGA) comes from the Greek word for the last letter of the Greek alphabet, symbolizing an end or the last of something. This translates to the group because they hope to be the final bosses of the K-Pop industry. The ‘X’ represents the unknown and all the possibilities for what they can achieve. They are excited about their debut and the start of the journey towards their goal. They even left this heartwarming message for their fans (who do not have a fandom name yet).
2. Reality show
They have a reality show called, “ONE MORE CHANX,” which allows their fans to get to know them. The title is a play on the fact that their re-debut is like another chance at their dreams. Each episode is a level and there are currently 9 levels ready to binge-watch.In the first episode, the members move into their dorm, and eight of the members meet the remaining three members. You can already see their brother-like closeness through the shenanigans they get up to.
3. Solid vocal, dance, and rap lines
The group is comprised of some of the best members from their previous groups, which strengthens their current group lines.Their vocal line consists of 4 members who were main vocalists in their previous groups. These members being Xen (who was the former main vocalist of 5-member group 1TEAM), JaeHan (the former main vocalist of 7-member group Spectrum), HuiChan (the former main vocalist of 6-member group Limitless), and YeChan (the former main vocalist and lead dancer of 9-member group 1THE9).The same goes for their dance line. 5 of the members were the main dancer in their previous groups. As mentioned previously, YeChan was a lead dancer in his group and so was JeHyun (who was the former lead dancer of 1TEAM), JungHoon (the former lead dancer of 7-member group ENOi), TaeDong (the former lead dancer of 5-member group GIDONGDAE), and HanGyeom (the former lead dancer and lead rapper of 7-member group Seven O’Clock). The rap line is just as talented. As previously mentioned, HanGyeom was the lead rapper of his group and so was Hyuk (the former lead rapper of ENOi).The other members may not have been in charge of their respective positions but are equally as talented. Kevin was a sub vocalist for ENOi. SeBin is also multi-talented - he was the rapper, vocal, and visual of the 6-member group SNUPER.With so many members who were in charge of their respective talents in the past, it is no wonder this group oozes stage presence.
4. They are considered ‘monster rookies’
OMEGA X hasn’t even debuted yet, but they have a lot of achievements under their belt. They were invited to throw the first pitch for the Seoul baseball team The KiWoom Heroes, are ambassadors for Jeju Tourism and the Asia Exchange Association and are the first rookie idols to be promoted on the billboard screens at COEX in Seoul.
